I recently tutored struggling readers at my local elementary school, helping them to improve their reading skills and, more importantly, to gain self-respect and a healthy self-esteem. I am passionate about helping others to succeed and to understand that there is nothing to be ashamed of if one is struggling. I had to learn that myself, so I know and understand how other students feel. I feel that something so simple as tutoring and helping another student can change a life forever. I changed lives in Class 102 at that elementary school and I can and will do it again.
